Description

The Master in Digital Product Design is the first-level University Specializing Master program at Politecnico di Milano, conducted online with in-person project work activities, delivered by CEFRIEL in collaboration with POLI.design. The Master, consisting of 8 integrated modules, offers an innovative Agile approach to education. It targets: Newly hired individuals (potentially under the contractual formula of Apprenticeship for High Education and Research) Corporate professionals Individual professionals/New Graduates The training will be interactive, with a high-profile university faculty, along with the presence of various industry professionals and experts. They will impart the most contemporary methodologies and experiences in digital product development, where multidisciplinary skills integrating technological, design, project management, as well as psycho-social, ethical, and sustainability aspects are increasingly demanded. The Master's duration is 24 months online, totaling 400 hours/50 days of training during working hours (with 2/3 synchronous lesson days per month), in addition to 450 hours of project work to be carried out in companies. The Master aims to create a multidisciplinary environment, fostering the sharing of experiences and knowledge among participants with diverse backgrounds. The applied educational model will be based on Project-Based Learning and will propose some in-person mini workshops that complement the Project Work on company cases. Throughout the Master's program, events and talks will be organized, allowing participants to delve into topics of professional interest and to network for personal and professional growth.

Educational project

The Master aims to train designers who are capable of managing the development and implementation of product and digital platform experiences, operating from an Agile/Lean perspective and working in a multidisciplinary environment. Thanks to a teaching model based on project-based learning, students will be able to learn methodologies and tools of User Experience and Product Management through practical exercises on real briefs. The Master is aimed at: Junior Designers (recent graduates from Politecnico di Milano or students who have attended courses in Graphics and Digital Design) who want to gain seniority in UX topics; Designers with already gained experience in a specific sector (e.g., Product) who want to reconfigure professionally in the market; other non-designer project stakeholders (Developers, Marketing Managers, Digital Strategists, etc.) who want to learn how to plan, coordinate, and validate the design process by becoming familiar with the discipline's pipeline, values, and deliverables.

Requirements

The Master's program is aimed at graduates holding a Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in the fields of Design, Architecture, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), Social Sciences, and Economics. Equivalent foreign qualifications will be considered valid as far as equivalent in their respective University systems.
