Professional development
Core and power skills for personal growth
Cultivating talents and skills with targeted paths
Training is the engine of individual and collective growth.
Politecnico di Milano supports and enhances individual skills so that everyone can contribute in the best possible way to the University's mission. We care about the complete and satisfying professional and human development of each of the people who have chosen to work in our organization, and for this reason we offer various and innovative learning and training opportunities. From soft skills to core competencies, we accompany our people through specially designed training courses, promoting professional development that rewards merit and knows no discrimination.
We involve all our people in onboarding paths aimed at facilitating, from the first months of their work, integration and orientation within the organization. Thanks to these initiatives, newcomers have the
opportunity to network with other colleagues and acquire the fundamental information to become an integral part of the community, learning its organizational culture, mission, values and other elements useful for improving the work and life experience at the University.
Our training packages of course include basic courses, provided to all staff and aimed at providing them with the useful tools to carry out their work in total safety and in compliance with current regulations. Among the main topics addressed: health and safety in the workplace, anti-corruption regulations, privacy protection and GDPR, cyber security.
Based on the role they play within the organization, our people can be involved in training courses designed to stimulate professional growth. The courses can cover both the technical skills required by the role and the so-called power skills, those soft skills that can improve the professional and personal effectiveness of individuals, such as creativity, emotional intelligence, assertive communication, critical thinking or leadership.
We build paths designed specifically for the enhancement of the potential of individuals. Among the various initiatives we find one-to-one coaching moments, initiatives to make disabled people more autonomous in carrying out their work, or the PoliTalent program, a one-year training course that aims to increase the technical-professional skills and power skills of a selected group of talents.
