Our commitment to people's well-being goes beyond words: it is concrete action that embraces every aspect of life. In our welfare system, we focus on the care of body and mind, offering complete and integrated support that covers the daily needs of the people who are part of our community.
We are aware that the well-being of each individual directly affects the quality of work and collective productivity, and for this reason we are constantly committed to creating an organizational environment that is as healthy, balanced and attentive as possible to different needs, where we can grow professionally and, at the same time, enjoy the right support in daily challenges.
For several years we have been creating the Polimi People Care project, the supplementary health care and social assistance service plan activated with the Insieme Salute Mutual Aid Society, which offers University staff a wide network of services capable of responding to people's well-being and care needs in the round: specialist visits and diagnostic tests, facilitations on health treatments, maternity support packages, psychological support programs, prevention programs and much more.
We offer our people psychological support tools to deal with particularly difficult or delicate moments in their lives at the University, such as the Listening Desk, which provides a consultancy service on relational and organizational issues to those who find themselves in a situation of discomfort in their work environment, or the Talete project, which includes interviews dedicated to workers approaching the exit from the world of work to support the final phase of their career. Psychological support programs are also accessible to staff thanks to the Polimi People Care supplementary assistance plan, which provides unlimited online psychological interviews and up to 5 face-to-face sessions.
As a form of financial support, we provide University staff who request subsidies to cope with exceptional or particularly serious events, such as cases of illness or disability of their own, their spouse/cohabitant or a dependent family member. With the aim of encouraging the right to study of our professionals, financial subsidies can also be requested to support the costs of enrolment in bachelor's, master's or master's degree courses
For the three-year period 2023-2026, we have signed a temporary insurance policy against the risk of death with Società Generali S.p.A, to protect our people and their families with a cost entirely financed by the University. The policy is aimed at all permanent staff and provides for the payment of a compensation sum in favor of the heirs.
