More value to work: 2025 welfare credit for technical and administrative staff increases
At Politecnico di Milano, we concretely invest in people. Thanks to a recent agreement between the Employers' Delegation and the Trade Union Delegation, the University's technical-administrative staff, in service and related in 2024, received a one-off additional welfare credit, to be used flexibly to access numerous goods and services. An additional opportunity to enhance well-being and the quality of work and personal life.
Enhancing work through Total Reward
In recent years, the world of work has changed profoundly: people's expectations have grown, not only in economic terms, but also with respect to the quality of the professional environment, the recognition of one's contribution and the possibility of reconciling life and work.
Politecnico di Milano has chosen to respond to these challenges with an organisational model focused on the enhancement of people, through Total Reward policies. A strategic approach that integrates remuneration, benefits, development opportunities, welfare and people care systems, with the aim of attracting, motivating and retaining talent, while creating a healthy, inclusive and sustainable work environment.
Within this model, corporate welfare is not just an ancillary measure, but a fundamental lever for building a solid, cohesive and satisfied university community.
Welfare program at Politecnico di Milano
The welfare system of Politecnico di Milano is designed to respond in a flexible and personalized way to the different needs of people. The offer includes a wide range of benefits and services, including:
- a structured plan of supplementary health care and people care services (from parenting support to caregiving to time-saving services)
- life insurance
- polytechnic Nurseries and Summer/Easter Centres
- ticket restaurant
- discounted public transport passes
- economic subsidies
- access to theatre, culture, sports courses
- and much more.
Among the tools available, there is an individual welfare credit worth 500 euros every year, reserved for technical and administrative staff.
The loan can be used flexibly for expenses related to:
- health and Care
- education and training
- travel and transport
- sport and wellness
- culture and leisure
- shopping/gift card
It is possible to use it both through vouchers, without a cash advance, and through the reimbursement of expenses already incurred.
An extra credit for 2025: a tangible recognition
Confirming the University's commitment to careful and shared management of resources, a recent agreement with the trade unions established that part of the ancillary fund not used in 2024 – for a total of 561,384 euros – will be allocated to strengthening the welfare purse for technical and administrative staff.
Starting from 1 August 2025, each employee who meets the requirements receives an additional credit, which is added to the balance already available on the platform.
This credit can also be used in all categories provided by the welfare platform: health, mobility, education, sport, shopping, leisure and more.
This is a concrete measure that enriches the value of the University's welfare policies, expanding the possibilities available to staff, generating positive effects also in terms of motivation, sense of belonging and participation in the life of the University.
Who can benefit from the extra credit
The extraordinary welfare credit is intended for technical and administrative staff in the Operators, Collaborators, Officials and High Professionalism areas, with the following requirements:
- have been in service at Politecnico di Milano for the entire year 2024;
- be active at work as of 1 August 2025.
